Treasuries Finish Near Unchanged

Treasuries finished near unchanged and traded in contrast to U.S. shares in dull overall trade. Early losses in U.S. shares fueled a test recent peaks but the afternoon rebound in U.S. stocks erased most of the rally.

Still, the weak undercurrent in U.S. shares should continue to underpin Treasuries via a safe haven bid.

The overall-CPI rose 0.2% in January, with the core up 0.2% too. Market reaction to CPI was muted since the data were largely in line with expectations.
