Can you teach a starving artist how to be a businessperson? That thorny task is the objective of the New Orleans' Entergy Arts Business Center, the nation's only business incubator that trains artists in entrepreneurship skills, such as sales, budgeting, and tax planning. With the advice she gleaned from marketing classes, quilter Jacquelyn Hughes Mooney began pitching her $15,000 quilts to corporations and private collections instead of individuals. She has since landed a $200,000 commission from Johnson & Johnson. "Business and art can work hand in hand," says Mooney. Shall we call this her Green Period?
