COMMENTARYThe market's fixation with 10,000--which the Dow Jones industrial averagebriefly touched on Mar. 16--overshadowed a generally buoyant week in theglobal markets. The big winner worldwide was Mexico, where the Mexican Bolsaindex is up a currency-adjusted 26% in the year to date. U.S. bond prices fellon Mar. 17, due to concern that recent corporate debt sales might reducedemand for Treasury securities. Crude oil prices surged on Mar. 17 to afive-month high.STOCKS
