COMMENTARYBonds rallied as fears that Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan would tighten interestrates abated, and stocks more than followed suit--breaking into new recordterritory. For the week, the Dow industrials jumped 5.4%, or 497 points, whilethe Standard & Poor's 500-stock index vaulted 4.8%. Even small-cap stocksshowed vigor, with the Russell 2000 adding 2.3%. Overseas markets responded inkind. Tokyo was up a stunning 9.2%, aided by the Sony restructuring. And inMexico, the rebound in the peso sent the Bolsa soaring 14.6%.STOCKS
