`The Question at IBM: Who's second-in-charge here?' (News: Analysis & Commentary, Dec. 8)

BUSINESS WEEK erred in writing that IBM Chairman Louis V. Gerstner Jr. cut the company's workforce nearly in half ("The Question at IBM: Who's second-in-charge here?" News: Analysis & Commentary, Dec. 8). When Gerstner joined IBM in 1993, the company had already slashed 150,000 jobs over a seven-year period. Gerstner cut IBM's workforce by an additional 35,000 jobs.Return to top

`Executive power tools,' (Cover Story, Nov. 24)

A chart in "Laptop lowdown" ("Executive power tools," Cover Story, Nov. 24) contained an incorrect figure on the amount of disk storage with Apple Computer Inc.'s PowerBook G3 laptop computer. The machine comes with a 5-gigabyte hard-disk.Return to top
