Love among the heavyweights (Finance, July 14)

"Love among the heavyweights" (Finance, July 14) reported incorrect underwriting rankings for Montgomery Securities. Judged by the stock market performance of the companies Montgomery brought public, it ranked 18th in 1995 and 1996, not 25th, according to Securities Data Co. (SDC). This corrected ranking excludes firms that did only one or two deals. Furthermore, Montgomery's equity underwriting ranking for the first half of 1997--based on dollar volume--was 10th, not 13th, according to SDC.Return to top
