DOWNSIZED, BUT NOT OUT

While Corporate America is leaner nowadays, it's no ghost town. General Motors has shed more than 100,000 employees since the 1980s, but it's still America's most populous company. Yet not all major employers are downsizing. Wal-Mart, PepsiCo, and United Parcel Service are among those staffing up.
