Grads For Hire

Technology & You: Bulletin Board: Software

GRADS FOR HIRE

It's getting to be that time of year, when flocks of corporate recruiters descend on hordes of job-hungry seniors. Technology won't guarantee success for either job-seekers or companies, but it can make the process simpler and more orderly. Career/Net from I/Net Inc. (800 403-0562) offers a Windows program that asks students questions and assembles the answers into an electronic resume (which can also be printed out as an attractive paper document). The information is assembled into a database that is distributed to subscribing businesses on CD-ROM. Students pay $100 for the service. The company is distributing the database free to the top 200 employers in each state; smaller companies can subscribe for $495 a year.BY STEPHEN H. WILDSTROM
