PHILIP MORRIS' MACHO CHIEF: HARD AS COFFIN NAILS
What a PR coup for Marlboro, for the Philip Morris Cos., and its new chief executive, Geoffrey C. Bible ("A smokin' Marlboro Man," People, Sept. 19).
As Mr. Bible tells it, he goes through a pack a day of the cowboy's friend, a statement that no doubt will hearten the millions who die each year from tobacco-related diseases. As one tobacco analyst in your article puts it: "Nobody wants a wimp to run this company." No sir. And Bible's no wimp. Or is the top man smokin' his own dope?
