INTIMIDATED BY THE INTERNET? PICK UP THE PHONE
Still looking for the on-ramp to the Internet? Feel like you're lost in cyberspace? Help is now a low-tech dial tone away.
The mavens at Mecklermedia Corp., publisher of Internet World magazine, have set up a help line for the 300,000 people a month they estimate hook into the Internet. With prerecorded answers to the most-asked questions, callers can learn about the Internet, how to use it, and etiquette tips by dialing 900 45-INTERNET. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and costs 95 cents per minute, with a limit of 15 minutes a call.EDITED BY IRA SAGER
