THIS CD-ROM LETS YOU PLOW THROUGH THE SLOPES
Ski season is upon us. Sure, the leaves haven't even started turning in most areas yet, but serious skiers know that now is the time to start planning winter getaways. Just in time, Media Odyssey has come out with an interactive CD-ROM. Called the Skiodyssey Interactive Annual, the disk is packed with detailed information--including photos, narration, maps, and video clips--about more than 400 ski areas in the U.S. The CD provides general overviews, statistics, trail maps, lodging, restaurants, and special events for each resort.
A feature called the Personal Preference Navigator lets skiers select the perfect destination by entering the criteria most important to them. So, if you're looking for challenging, mogul-filled slopes for yourself, cross-country skiing for a vertically disinclined companion, and proximity to lots of aprs-ski action, the Navigator will dish up a list of ski areas that meet your needs. The $40 CD-ROM is designed for PCs running the Windows operating system.EDITED BY PAUL M. ENG
