DURABLE GOODS ORDERS

New orders for durable goods probably increased by 0.5% in June, says the MMS survey. That would be the fourth straight advance in bookings, including a 1.1% gain in May. The string of increases in new orders suggests the backlog of unfilled orders rose in June, after a small 0.1% increase in May.
