The production index rebounded during the week ended June 11. On a seasonally

adjusted basis, output levels of steel, autos, trucks, electric power,

crude-oil refining, and lumber all increased. Coal, paperboard production, and

rail-freight traffic declined, while paper output was unchanged from the

previous week. Before calculation of the four-week moving average, the index

rose to 196.2, from 194.5 in the week ended June 4.
