HOW TO TURN YOUR PC INTO A POLITICAL ACTION MACHINE

Are you angry with the government? Want to give Congress a piece of your mind? You probably can't afford to do your own lobbying in Qashington, but the next best thing might be to boot up Political Action, a software package from Political Systems in Santa Cruz, Calif. It helps prepare and send messages to the President, senators, congressional representatives, and even key members of the press--all on an IBM-compatible PC.

Available at an introductory price mf $69.95, the program contains a simple word processor, profiles and addresses of 1,000 national policymakers, and methods for organizing lists of target recipients. The letters it generates are usually printed and sent by mail. But if you're in a hurry and your budget and PC allow, the program can fax your thoughts, too. It can even send them as mailgrams, telegrams, or electronic mail moving over CompuServe Inc., MCI Mail, and similar networks.
