GOT A SMELLY NIKE LYING AROUND?

Nike faces yet another boycott threat, this time from a Washington group that wants it to make its top-of-the-line shoes in the U.S. instead of importing them from Asia. The Made in the U.S. A. Foundation, with the support of the AFL-CIO, is spending$1 million on ads in 20 newspapers across the U.S. urging readers to send their "old, dirty, smelly, worn-out Nikes" to Chairman Philip Knight. Nike, which earned $329 million on $3.4 billion in sales last year, says it does plenty of U.S. manufacturing.EDITED BY JOAN WARNER
