ISRAEL

Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin is continuing to reap rewards for taking a constructive approach toward talks with the Arabs. Israeli sources say German Chancellor Helmut Kohl told the visiting Rabin that Germany would consider kicking in about $680 million in funds to create jobs for Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union. The U.S. already has agreed to guarantee about $10 billion in loans over five years. And U.S. government sources say that the U.S. may give Israel access to satellite intelligence, early-warning systems, and other high-tech goodies.Edited by Stanley Reed
