LATIN AMERICA

Latin leaders are putting the squeeze on Fidel Castro. The presidents of oil-producing Mexico, Venezuela, and Colombia summoned Castro to Mexico's Cozumel Island on Oct. 23 for talks. The likely deal: political liberalization in Havana in exchange for oil, which Castro desperately needs to replace dwindling Soviet supplies.EDITED BY STANLEY REED
