Just as an athlete needs a coach, an entrepreneur needs an advisor. Whether you’re a one-person company or running an enterprise, the right business advisor can help minimize costly mistakes and help you increase revenue and profitability.

Business advisors are ideal for discussing your short- and long-term goals, business plan, marketing strategies, product promotion, pricing, sales, or any other questions and concerns you may have. Sometimes it’s necessary to have more than one advisor, with different areas of expertise (accounting, startup, marketing, etc.). Advisors can guide you and help develop your business decision-making skills to become more effective and more successful in a shorter amount of time.

With the day-to-day business operations stacked in front of you, a monthly meeting with an advisor can help you stay on course with your long-term goals and keep you focused on the bigger picture, rather than get lost in the clutter. Be sure to come to the meeting armed with your list of goals, questions, and pertinent company materials for review (business plan, brochures, etc.). Have an open mind and be prepared for constructive criticism. Advisors are a great sounding board and can help steer you in the right direction.
