Take the Time to Answer the Tough Questions

A small business owner recently asked me: "How will I know when it’s time to open a new location to grow my business?" As a coach, I find it helpful to look at the questions my clients find most important. Sometimes the answer—or the compass pointing to it—is contained within the question itself. For example, if you’re wondering whether it’s time to make a change, then you’re probably ready at least to consider your options, if not take the plunge. Challenge yourself to look at a bigger question you’ve been carrying around, and then ask yourself: What answers are suggested by this question of mine?
