Be Thrifty with Your Legal Dollars

Posted by: Rod Kurtz on June 16, 2006

Lawyers calculate their fees by adding up the time spent on your case, so make sure your lawyer is using your time wisely. One way to keep legal fees down is by avoiding unnecessary calls and meetings with your lawyer. You can also keep tabs on your budget by requiring that your attorney get permission from you for expenses exceeding $200. And if you’re involved in a lawsuit of any type, it’s a good idea to meet with your lawyer quarterly to discuss the progress of your case as compared to your budget.
