America’s Best Social Entrepreneurs

Posted by: Stacy Perman on January 22, 2009

On January 13 we kicked off BusinessWeek’s inaugural search for the most promising social entrepreneurs in the U.S. We are looking for U.S.-based companies that aim to both turn a profit and solve social problems in new and innovative ways either here or abroad.

Until February 20, 2009, we are fielding nominations. Our staff and a few renowned members of the business and the social enterprise community will sift through the nominees and narrow the selection down to 25 finalists. Then we’ll profile each of them and have you vote for the company you think holds the most promise, from Apr. 3 to Apr. 26, 2009. On May 2, we’ll announce the five top vote-getters.

If this sounds like your venture or a company that you are familiar with we’d like to hear from you. You can submit your nominations here.
