When a computer crisis strikes, you want answers, not Muzak. TechKnow-How.com--a sort of poor man's help desk--promises you won't have to wait. Even for routine tech problems, the service, set to launch this month, will be available 24-7 via chat or e-mail for $9.95 a month. For an additional $29.95 per incident, you can get a technician on the phone who will guide you through self-help procedures (877 845-3264). It's for PC users only; Mac owners are still on their own. A similar service, PC Crisis Line, has been around for a couple of years, offering its services exclusively by telephone. The company charges $3 for the first 10 minutes and $1 for every minute after that (800 828-4358, www.pccrisis.com).
