Visa President Partridge plans to retire

NEW YORK (AP) — Visa said Wednesday that its president, John Partridge, plans to retire at the end of March.

The 63-year-old Partridge has worked at Visa Inc. for 13 years and previously served as its chief operating officer.

His responsibilities as president include leading the company's technology, emerging product, processing and client services functions. He's also assisted with integrating acquisitions such as CyberSource, PlaySpan and Fundamo.

The San Francisco company said that Partridge will handle his duties through March and work with CEO Charles Scharf on a transition.

Visa shares rose 20 cents to $149.10 in morning trading. They are near the high end of their 52-week range of $95.05 to $150.72.
