| CORRECTIONS & CLARIFICATIONS Variables.selectedStrap "Too good to be true" (Management, Apr. 14, 2003) In a heading in our story about HealthSouth (HRC ) Corp. ("Too good to be true," Management, Apr. 14), we should not have said "Why HealthSouth CEO Scrushy began deep-frying the chain's books." Richard M. Scrushy was charged by the Securities & Exchange Commission with inflating HealthSouth's profits, but he denied the charges, as the story itself made clear. Variables.selectedStrap "Executive Pay" (Special Report, Apr. 21, 2003) "Executive Pay" (Special Report, Apr. 21) included an erroneous footnote accompanying the entry for Family Dollar Stores Inc. CEO Howard R. Levine in the Executive Compensation Scoreboard. Howard Levine did not leave the company on Jan. 16. His father, Leon Levine, retired on that date. Variables.selectedStrap "How Ford cruised across the years" (Books, May 26, 2003) Our review of Wheels for the World: Henry Ford, His Company, and a Century of Progress ("How Ford cruised across the years," Books, May 26) gave an incorrect date for the debut of the Ford Mustang. It was the 1965 model year. |
