CORRECTIONS & CLARIFICATIONS

"Can toxic mold spoil a stock offering?" (Finance, Apr. 29, 2002)

"Can toxic mold spoil a stock offering?" (Finance, Apr. 29) stated wrongly that Citigroup plans a secondary offering of Travelers Property Casualty Corp. stock later this year. In fact, it plans to make a tax-free distribution to Citigroup shareholders of all but 9.9% of stock that it owns. Also, Ed McMahon did not work for Publishers Clearing House. He worked for American Family Publishers.

"Woe is WorldCom" (Information Technology, May 6, 2002)

In "Woe is WorldCom" (Information Technology, May 6), a statement from Standard & Poor's Chief Economist David Wyss requires clarification. He meant to say that WorldCom's stock and bond prices indicate that investors are worried the company may go into bankruptcy. He did not mean the statement as Standard & Poor's opinion.

"The besieged banker" (Cover Story, Apr. 22, 2002)

"The besieged banker" (Cover Story, Apr. 22) should have said that Chemical Bank purchased Texas Commerce Bank in 1987.
