Frederik Balfour

Frederik Balfour is the Asia correspondent in Hong Kong for Bloomberg Businessweek. Prior to BusinessWeek, he was deputy bureau chief for Agence France Presse in Vietnam. Balfour first came to Asia in 1986 on a McGraw-Hill Correspondents Fund Fellowship. Balfour received a special McGraw-Hill achievement award for covering the Iraq War, where he was embedded with the U.S. Armys 3rd Infantry Div. He holds a masters degree from the London School of Economics, a masters degree in journalism, and a PhD in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
