Brian J. Tunick, JPMorgan’s senior specialty retail analyst, has been following the retail sector on Wall Street for the past 15 years. Along with his team, his coverage at JPMorgan includes an expansive list of more than 25 U.S. specialty retail companies, representing more than $100 billion in market capitalization and encompassing the youth retail sector, women’s/missy sector, men’s sector, the off-price retail sector, and the luxury goods sector. For the past eight years Tunick and his team have been recognized as the No. 1 specialty retail team by Institutional Investor’s All-America research poll of the world’s biggest buyside clients. In addition, Tunick was recognized as the No. 1 specialty retail analyst in Alpha’s poll of the biggest hedge fund clients. He has also twice been part of the team that has been recognized by the Wall Street Journal for earnings accuracy in its annual All-Star Analyst contest and stock picking. In addition to his appearances on CNBC, Bloomberg Television, and Fox News, Tunick is frequently quoted in industry publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Forbes, Businessweek, Women’s Wear Daily, DNR, and Chain Store Age. Tunick joined JPMorgan in 2002 following five years at Bear Stearns and has a BSBA in finance from the Kogod School of Business at the American University.
