Photograph by Guido Vitti for Bloomberg BusinessweekAs vice president in charge of security strategy, Jason Brvenik works alongside Sourcefire founder and Chief Technology Officer Martin Roesch to develop, manage, and execute innovative strategies and technologies that address the security needs of large organizations. He does this by leveraging his more than 15 years of extensive experience in systems design, integration, and security for both commercial and open-market projects.

Since 2002, Brvenik has served in several critical roles at Sourcefire, including senior director of technical services for the Americas, where he managed field technical staff across North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean. He also worked as Sourcefire’s principal technologist, ensuring that technical solutions could scale to meet customers’ security requirements. Finally, Brvenik has remained a key contributor to Sourcefire’s open-source projects and has become a preeminent thought leader via his contributions to the corporate blog and frequent speaking engagements worldwide.

Prior to joining Sourcefire, Brvenik was a senior security architect at beTRUSTed, where he helped design and implement secure computing environments for global businesses. He has also held technical positions at Sun Microsystems and TEKsystems.
