PSEG Solar Source Agrees to Buy 3.6-Megawatt Project in Vermont

July 23, 2014

Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. (PEG:US)’s solar unit agreed to buy a 3.6-megawatt photovoltaic plant in Vermont from closely held Juwi Solar Inc.

The ERWR Whitcomb Farm project, about 4 miles (6.4 kilometers) northeast of Burlington, will deliver electricity to Vermont Electric Power Producers Inc. under a 25-year contract, the Newark, New Jersey-based company said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Juwi Solar, based in Boulder, Colorado, will complete and manage the project for PSEG Solar Source. Construction is expected to begin this month and finish later this year.

PSEG Solar Source now has 110 megawatts of capacity spread among nine projects in eight states, including Arizona, California and Florida. The solar unit on July 2 agreed to pay $22 million for a 13-megawatt Juwi Solar project in Texas.

PSEG is the owner of New Jersey’s largest electric utility.
