June 19, 2014

Dominion Resources Inc. (D:US), the third-largest U.S. utility owner, agreed to buy a 20-megawatt solar farm in central California from a U.S. unit of French utility Electricite de France SA.

The CID solar project near the city of Corcoran will deliver power to Pacific Gas & Electric Co. under a 20-year contract, San Diego-based EDF Renewable Energy said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

With the deal, Richmond, Virginia-based Dominion owns 232 megawatts of solar capacity, including 159 megawatts under construction in California.

Duke Energy Corp. (DUK:US) and NextEra Energy Inc. (NEE:US) are the largest (DUK:US) U.S. utility owners by market value.
