First Solar to Build 43 Megawatts of California Projects for EDF

First Solar Inc. (FSLR:US), the largest U.S. solar-panel manufacturer, won contracts to build almost 43 megawatts of power plants in California for the renewable energy unit of Electricite de France.

Construction on the two projects will begin this quarter, the Tempe, Arizona-based company said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

The 19.8-megawatt CID Solar project in Kings County will be completed in October and has a long-term contract to sell its output to PG&E Corp. (PCG:US)

The 23-megawatt Cottonwood project in Kings and Kern counties will be finished in the first quarter of next year and sell the output to Marin Clean Energy.
