SunEdison Closes Adobe Plant Sale to Southern, Turner Renewable

April 21, 2014

SunEdison Inc. (SUNE:US), the solar developer and polysilicon supplier formerly known as MEMC Electronic Materials Inc., completed the sale of its 20-megawatt Adobe Solar Facility to Southern Co. (SO:US) and Turner Renewable Energy LLC.

The project in Kern County, California, is the fourth the company has developed for Southern and Turner Renewable since June 2012, St. Peters, Missouri-based SunEdison said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Dawn Brister, a SunEdison spokeswoman, didn’t immediately respond to phone and e-mail messages seeking additional comment.

Edison International (EIX:US)’s Southern California Edison has agreed to buy electricity from the Adobe solar farm under a 20-year contract.
