Smart Water Network Revenue to Triple in 9 Years, Navigant Says

December 09, 2013

Annual revenue from smart water networks that use energy more efficiently and reduce leaks will triple to more than $3.3 billion in 2022 from this year, according to a research report from Navigant Consulting Inc. (NCI:US)

Utilities and municipalities will increasingly turn to smart water networks that curb waste and losses amid growing urbanization because replacing infrastructure can be expensive and disruptive, Chicago-based Navigant said today in an e-mailed statement.

“The water industry is hungry for change but also conservative in its operations and restricted in its financial options,” Eric Woods, a Navigant analyst, said in the statement.
