3M Ventures Arm Makes Equity Investment in TaKaDu Water Network

3M Co. (MMM:US), whose products range from Scotch tape to dental braces and Ace bandages, is investing in TaKadu, whose water-network monitoring services help utilities curb losses, reduce costs and increase efficiencies.

Terms of the deal between 3M New Ventures of Munich and Yehud, Israel-based TaKaDu, which employs analytics to detect operational issues such as leaks and faulty meters in the water grid, weren’t disclosed, St. Paul, Minnesota-based 3M said today in a statement.
