Canadian Industry Minister Christian Paradis said he’s confident the country can have a fourth wireless carrier to bolster competition.
Paradis, speaking to reporters in Ottawa today, declined to comment on Orascom Telecom Holding SAE’s announcement today that its dropping its request for regulatory approval to acquire Wind Mobile, the largest of three recently created wireless operators based in Ontario.
“I’m confident we can have a fourth player,” Paradis said.
