European stocks declined as investors awaited the conclusion of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting for indications on stimulus measures. U.S. index futures were little changed, while Asian shares rose.
Alcatel-Lucent SA rallied 5.2 percent after announcing plans to sell at least 1 billion euros ($1.3 billion) of assets. Nordea Bank AB dropped 3.7 percent after Sweden began selling a stake in the Nordic region’s largest bank.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index declined 0.4 percent to 291.83 as of 8:33 a.m. in London, erasing earlier gains. Standard & Poor’s 500 Index futures fell 0.1 percent after the U.S. gauge advanced 1.5 percent over the past two days. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index climbed 1 percent.
