North American Hog, Cattle Herds Declined From Year Ago

The U.S. and Canadian hog herd as of Jan. 1 slipped to 79.07 million head from 79.15 million a year earlier, a joint report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Agriculture Canada said today. The cattle herd declined 1.4 percent to 101.6 million head.
