Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s (WMT) Chief Administrative Officer in the U.S., Tom Mars, will leave the world’s largest retailer on March 13.

Mars handles real estate, financial services and labor relations, according to the company’s website. He was responsible for the legal department and served as general counsel from May 2002 to February 2009.

Wal-Mart’s Asia spokesman Anthony Rose confirmed the departure without providing a reason and Mars couldn’t be contacted outside regular business hours in the U.S. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported that Mars was leaving.
