Italian government bonds advanced for a second day before the nation sells debt.
Yields on the nation’s 5.5 percent debt due November 2022 fell three basis points, or 0.03 percentage point, to 4.48 percent at 7:51 a.m. London time, adding to yesterday’s drop of 11 basis points. Spain’s 10-year rate also decreased by three basis points, to 5.30 percent.
Italy is scheduled to auction securities maturing between 2015 and 2040 today.
