Northern Ireland police say they found a bomb after investigating reports that a device had been thrown at a police patrol in north Belfast late yesterday.
A pipe bomb was found in searches in the Old Park area and has been taken away for further examination, a police spokesman said in a recorded message. The area has been closed-off, the unidentified spokesman said, without giving any further information.
