UCL Port, a unit of Russian billionaire Vladimir Lisin’s UCL Holding, handled 32.6 million tons of cargo in 2012, 2 percent more than a year earlier, the company said in an e-mailed statement.
The St. Petersburg container terminal showed the biggest gain, of 72 percent to 3.1 million tons. The Seaport of St. Petersburg grew 18 percent to 8.7 million tons of cargo, according to the statement. OAO Taganrogsky Morskoy Torgovy Port rose 7 percent to 1.5 million tons, while Tuapse Sea Commercial Port fell 13 percent to 16.4 million tons.
