Cocoa exports from Ecuador, the world’s top grower of flavored beans used in fine chocolate, rose to 18,272 metric tons in December, an 8 percent increase from last year, the National Cocoa Exporters Association said.
Shipments increased from 16,918 tons in December 2011, according to data published today on the website of the association known as Anecacao.
Ecuador exported 13,997 tons in October and 19,062 tons in November, while exports in October and November 2011 were 20,761 tons and 27,285 tons, respectively, the data show.
