Duke University returned to the top spot in the Associated Press men’s college basketball poll ahead of Michigan. Kansas and Syracuse tied for third.
The Durham, North Carolina-based school fell to No. 3 last week after its first loss of the season, 84-76 to North Carolina State.
Losses this week by former No. 1 Louisville and former No. 2 Indiana allowed the Blue Devils to climb back into the top spot, receiving 39 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel. Syracuse beat Louisville and Wisconsin downed Indiana.
Duke (16-1) travels to play Miami (13-3, 4-0), the Atlantic Coast Conference’s only remaining undefeated team in league competition, in two nights and hosts Maryland (14-4, 2-3) on Jan. 26.
