Chelsea Beats Arsenal 2-1 in Premier League at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea beat London rival Arsenal 2-1 today to move to within 10 points of leader Manchester United in English soccer’s Premier League.

Juan Mata and Frank Lampard, with a penalty kick, scored in the opening 16 minutes for Chelsea at its Stamford Bridge stadium, with Theo Walcott replying for Arsenal in the second half.

Manchester United tops the standings with 55 points, Manchester City has 51, with Chelsea on 45. Tottenham is five points further back in fourth, while Arsenal remains on 34 points in sixth spot.

United is at Tottenham in today’s other game.
