Euro-area construction output fell in November as declines in France and Italy offset gains in Germany and Spain.
Construction in the 17-nation euro area decreased 0.4 percent from October, when production was flat, the European Union’s statistics office in Luxembourg said today. From a year earlier, output declined 4.7 percent.
In Germany, Europe’s largest economy, November construction advanced 1 percent from a month earlier, while Spain gained 1.2 percent, according to today’s report. In France and Italy, output dropped 0.5 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively.
In the 27-nation EU, construction fell 0.9 percent from October, when it rose 2.8 percent, according to the report.
