Dozens of individuals associated with New Jersey and New York-based trash haulers were arrested by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation today in a sweep of organized crime-related activities in the metropolitan area, J. Peter Donald, a spokesman for the FBI, said in an interview.

Arraignments in the case may come later today in Manhattan federal court, according to court records.
