Yale Names Polak as Provost to Replace President-Elect Salovey

Yale University named Benjamin Polak as provost, replacing Peter Salovey who will become the Ivy League school’s next president on June 30.

Polak, 51, is head of Yale’s economics department, according to a statement today by the school in New Haven, Connecticut. Salovey takes over for Richard C. Levin, an economist who has been president since 1993.
