Everton defender Phil Jagielka signed a two-year contract extension through the 2016-17 season, the Premier League soccer club said on its website.

Jagielka has seven goals in 195 matches since joining Everton from Sheffield United for 4 million pounds ($6.5 million) in 2007.

The 30-year-old has also made 16 appearances for the England national team and was a member of the squad at last summer’s European Championship.
