Kansai Electric Starts Operations at First Wind Farm in Japan

Kansai Electric Power Co. (9503), Japan’s second-biggest power generator, said it started commercial operations at a 12 megawatt wind farm in Hyogo prefecture in the country’s west.

It’s the utility’s first wind power station and will generate enough power to supply 5,500 homes, the company said today in a statement.
