President Barack Obama will meet tomorrow with families of the victims of the massacre at a Newtown, Connecticut, elementary school and speak at a memorial service, the White House announced.
The service is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time, the White House said in a statement.
Twenty children and six adults were killed at the school yesterday in the town of 28,000 about 60 miles (97 kilometers) northeast of New York City. The gunman, identified by authorities as 20-year-old Adam Lanza, killed himself. He also shot to death his mother before rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Obama said yesterday the nation must “come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this regardless of the politics.”
